Great news has arrived for Dr. STONE fans. The official website and social media accounts for the Dr. STONE anime announced today that a new anime sequel, based on the manga’s epilogue chapter “TERRAFORMING,” is currently in production.
This project will continue the story beyond the TV anime’s series finale (June 25, 2026).

The announcement was made at STONE FES 2026. 2026 event, where a trailer featuring newly recorded dialogue for Senku was also released.
The anime will adapt the sequel story “TERRAFORMING,” which was included in Volume 27 of the manga.
Manga writer Riichiro Inagaki remarked that the anime had actually reached the manga’s final chapter, and seeing that made him quite emotional.
He jokingly noted that “there is still more story to tell” and asked fans to keep watching the science of Senku and his team for a little longer. He described the news as “insanely exhilarating.”
Manga artist Boichi also expressed his gratitude to the attendees at STONE FES., the online audience, and all Dr. STONE fans.
He shared his joy at being able to celebrate this news with everyone and asked fans to look forward to future updates. TV anime character designer Yuko Iwasa also created a special illustration to mark the occasion.
Details regarding the format, production staff, and release date have not yet been confirmed.
