Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that since yesterday evening, Russia has attacked Ukraine using over a hundred weapons.
These included jet-powered drones, loitering munitions (explosive drones), and ballistic missiles. According to Zelenskyy, a large number of these weapons were shot down, but not all could be intercepted.
Residential Building Destroyed in Kharkiv
A residential building in Kharkiv was destroyed in the attack. Rescue operations to retrieve people trapped under the rubble continued throughout the night.

Four people lost their lives in this attack. Zelenskyy expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased. He noted that 41 people were injured in Kharkiv alone in a single evening.

Ballistic Missile Attack on Kyiv; No Warning from Partners
Five ballistic missiles were also fired at the capital, Kyiv, striking civilian infrastructure. Zelenskyy described the attack as “vile.”
He stated that Ukraine received no prior warning about this attack from its partner nations.
According to him, intelligence regarding Russian ballistic missile launches plays a crucial role in saving lives and is one of the most critical issues.
Attacks Continue Despite Energy Truce
Zelenskyy stated that in the two days following the US President’s call for an energy truce, Ukraine did not launch any attacks on Russian oil refineries or the energy sector.
In contrast, Russia targeted Ukraine’s energy facilities and critical infrastructure during this period.
According to him, 19 regions of the country came under attack in just these two days. He stated that this clearly indicates Russia has no intention of halting its attacks.
“The war will end when the aggressor realizes it cannot be prolonged”
Zelenskyy reiterated that Ukraine is ready to take reciprocal steps to de-escalate tensions, but effective pressure on Russia is essential for this. He remarked that wars end when the aggressor understands they cannot drag out the conflict.
According to him, global pressure on Russia brings peace closer, whereas providing direct or indirect support to Russia, delaying aid to Ukraine, and making it difficult to defend against ballistic missiles will not help achieve peace.
In conclusion, Zelenskyy stated that everyone desires peace, and achieving it requires a strong America, a strong Europe, and strong partners. He expressed his gratitude to everyone who is genuinely helping Ukraine.
